PhD attached to Tenure Track “Quantitative approaches to language processing and use”
Chara Tsoukala is a PhD Candidate at the International Max-Planck Research School (IMPRS) and the Graduate School for the Humanities (GSH). She holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a Master's degree in "Human-Machine Communication" from the University of Groningen. For her Msc thesis she moved to Edinburgh to work with the Statistical Machine Translation group on Interactive Translation Prediction. She also worked as a research assistant at the university of Edinburgh for the EU project CASMACAT (Cognitive Analysis and Statistical Methods for Advanced Computer Aided Translation).
Within the Language in Interaction Consortium, her work will focus on multilingualism and on computational models of language switching.
