Researchers from the LiI Synergy Project promote outreach of science to the public
We share our thoughts with other minds all day, every day, but we do not understand how. For some people, making use of the rich contextual information that helps us interpret what others say is not easy. One such group are people on the autism spectrum, who sometimes find communication challenging. Two of the topics studied by the Synergy project are how interlocuters create a ‘shared cognitive space’ for mutual understanding and the communicative difficulties experienced by individuals on the Autism spectrum in creating mutual understanding. On https://www.mutualunderstanding.nl/, researchers share their insights on these and other topics through dissemination of research, downloadable content, and a ‘Crack the vault!’ game that can be played online with up to two players. Through playing the game, you can even aid their research while you play!
